We're recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to join a dynamic team in KwaZulu-Natal and take ownership of critical infrastructure projects from contract inception through to completion.

About the Role

Surge Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You'll be responsible for managing contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, mitigating risks, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with deep experience in water infrastructure, bulk water, water supply, sewer systems, or rising mains projects.

Requirements

• BSc, BEng, BTech, or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a relevant construction-related qualification
• Minimum 10+ years' experience in civil engineering or infrastructure construction, ideally including bulk water, water supply, sewer, rising mains, or associated infrastructure projects
• Proven experience with major construction contract frameworks including FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or similar
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement, claims management, and dispute resolution
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software

A strategic thinker with the ability to protect organisational interests while maintaining collaborative relationships with contractors, consultants, and clients. You should be detail-oriented, proactive in risk identification, and capable of working independently on complex contractual matters.
