Surge Staffing Solutions PTY LTD ("Surge", "we", "us", "our") is a specialist technical recruitment agency based in Linbro Park, Gauteng, South Africa. We place civil engineering, construction, mining and property professionals across Africa and the Middle East.

2. What Information We Collect

Candidates: When you submit your CV, apply for a vacancy, or register on our candidate portal, we collect your name, contact details, email address, work history, qualifications, salary expectations, and any other information included in your CV or profile.

Clients and contacts: When you engage with us as a client or business contact, we collect your name, job title, company, email address, and phone number.

Website visitors: We collect standard analytics data via Google Analytics. We do not collect personally identifiable information from visitors who do not submit a form.

Email marketing: If you subscribe to our newsletters, we store your email address and industry preference in our self-hosted email platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Matching candidates to suitable vacancies and presenting your profile to prospective employers
• Communicating with you about roles, applications, and recruitment opportunities
• Sending industry-relevant job alerts and newsletters (with your consent)
• Managing our client relationships and fulfilling recruitment mandates

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share candidate information with prospective employers only when relevant to a specific vacancy and only with your knowledge. We use the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics — website usage analytics
• Anthropic Claude API — used internally to assist with drafting candidate communications and job content
• LinkedIn — we post job advertisements to our company page via the LinkedIn Community Management API
• Facebook / Meta — we post job advertisements to our Facebook page

5. LinkedIn Integration

Our internal platform integrates with the LinkedIn Community Management API to post job advertisements to the Surge Staffing Solutions LinkedIn company page (ID: 18639997). We do not access, store, or process the personal LinkedIn data of any individual through this integration. The integration is used solely to publish Surge's own job content to Surge's own company page.

6. Data Retention

We retain candidate profiles for as long as you are actively in our recruitment pipeline or have given consent to remain on our database. If you have not engaged with us in over three years, we will delete or anonymise your record. You may request deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights (POPIA)

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Email us at info@surgestaff.co.za and we will respond within 21 business days.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for Google Analytics and session management only. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data. No internet transmission is completely secure.
