About the Role
Are you a technically strong, hands-on infrastructure professional ready to play a key role in the growth of a premium mixed-use urban precinct? Our client is seeking an experienced Utilities & Precinct Operations Manager to oversee the performance, maintenance and future-proofing of critical infrastructure and public realm assets across Westown.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee water, boreholes, sewer, stormwater, roads, electrical, fibre and telecommunications infrastructure
- Manage utility connections for new developments, from applications through to physical connection and handover
- Approve and coordinate construction activities within the precinct
- Act as the key technical liaison with developers and contractors
- Oversee public environment maintenance, including landscaping, roads, sidewalks, open spaces, trails, cleaning and security systems
- Lead Operations & Maintenance teams and service contractors
- Ensure contractor compliance with SLAs and performance standards
- Develop proactive asset management, maintenance and renewal programmes
- Manage budgets, reporting and stakeholder coordination across the Westown Utility Company, Westown Broadband and Westown Management Association
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Property/Facilities Management or a related Built Environment discipline
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in utilities, civil infrastructure, construction, infrastructure maintenance or large-scale precinct/estate management
- Strong technical knowledge of civil and electrical infrastructure
- Experience with land development processes
- Proven ability to lead technical operations and maintenance teams
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills
- Hands-on, proactive and solutions-driven approach
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing teams, contractors and suppliers
- Valid driver's licence
- Able to be based at Westown, KwaZulu-Natal
