Quantity Surveyor

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team across Gauteng, managing measurement, certification, and cost control on multiple civil engineering construction projects.

About the Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll be the financial backbone of our construction operations. You'll work closely with Site Agents, Construction Managers, and surveyors to measure work on site, identify scope gaps in BOQs, and keep projects financially healthy. Your responsibilities include producing monthly cost reports, interim certificates, budget forecasts, and ensuring all sites (bar the smallest) receive professional QS support. You'll spend at least 50% of your time on site, working across multiple projects to maintain accurate measurements and cost control.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering construction measurement
• Based in Johannesburg or Pretoria (willing to travel on site regularly)
• Strong numeracy and financial acumen
• Solid understanding of tendering processes and BOQ analysis
• Ability to identify gaps and variations in Bills of Quantities
• Competent in on-site measurement and liaison with Site Agents, CMs, and surveyors
• Proficient in producing interim certificates, cost reports, and budget forecasts
