A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team and drive financial discipline, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation across a multi-site property environment.

About the Role

This is a senior executive opportunity for an experienced financial leader who can combine strong technical finance expertise with operational leadership, commercial thinking, governance, technology, people management, and strategic decision-making.

You will partner with the CEO and Executive Team to develop and execute business strategy, providing strategic and operational financial leadership while overseeing key support functions including Finance, HR, IT, and Legal & Compliance. You'll drive accountability through measurable KPIs, identify opportunities to improve yield and profitability, and ensure the organisation operates with financial discipline and operational excellence across multiple sites.

Your responsibilities will span strategic financial management, human resources oversight, information technology strategy, legal and compliance leadership, business process optimisation, and people leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• 15+ years' experience in senior financial leadership
• Senior CFO or Finance Director-level experience in operational, asset-heavy, multi-site environments
• Demonstrated operational finance experience in property, hospitality, or student accommodation sectors
• Proven track record driving operational efficiency, cost control, and margin improvement in multi-site environments
• Strong understanding of property development finance, operational asset management, and portfolio reporting
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across Finance, HR, IT, and Legal at executive level
• Demonstrated experience managing Finance plus at least two of HR, IT, or Legal functions
• Strong executive leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability with strong financial modelling expertise
• IFRS and statutory reporting expertise
• ESG and sustainability reporting knowledge
• Change leadership and digital transformation capability
• Strong governance, risk management, and internal control knowledge
• Employment Equity candidate status
